Why you must do Facebook Marketing
Let’s face it: If you are in any Network Marketing company for any period of time, and the number of your Facebook friends hasn’t gone up significantly, then I bet with you that you are not making a lot of money. You have to actively and consciously increase the number of your Facebook friends! If you don’t believe me, check how many Facebook friends that the top earners in your company have. You have to understand that once you have started a home based business, you actually got a new profession: you are a marketer. And what marketers do is building relations with as many people as possible, so they can market them their product, company, opportunity, etc.. Some of the people that I coach tell me that they only want to have their real friends in their Facebook profile. Well, there are several solutions: 1) Open a new account only for business 2) Use Facebook lists (for example, create a list called “real friends) to control who sees the information that you share. 3) Use a fanpage for your business persona and marketing stuff.. But Facebook Marketing is not just sending “friends requests” to random people. It also about who to contact and more importantly how! How to add as a friend on Facebook You want to add people that are open minded and are looking for opportunities. Use the search box in Facebook to find groups that are related to “network marketing” “home based business” “make money” etc. There are so many groups, so you never run out of people to talk to. Put it into your daily routine for success to add every day 5-10 new people from these groups. Before you send a friend request always send a message saying something like: “Hi <name>, I saw you on the group <group_name_here>. I will be happy to connect here and see how we can help each other“. If you like and comment their posts in the group it will work even better. Always keep track of your pending friend requests. Check the video below to see how I do it (there used to be apps that did it, but not anymore): Checking your pending friend requests is an important step in this Facebook Marketing strategy, because Facebook may flag your account for suspicious behavior if you have too many. If you are getting warning messages from Facebook when you send a new friend request asking you “do you really know this person”, then know that you are under surveillance, and should be more careful.Your Facebook Marketing goal is building relationships
Having many friends in Facebook doesn’t mean that you will have success. I have talked with many people that have 5000 people in their Facebook profile, but simply do not know what to do with them.
Facebook Marketing is all about building relationships, and connecting with a new person is just the first step. If you really want to know how to do it right, I suggest that you sit back and let couple of people that I know in the business teach you how to build relationship online.
I just know that after you see what they teach you will be able get much better results with your Facebook Marketing. I know this because this is exactly what happened to me after they taught me the exact same thing!

And maybe the most important Facebook Marketing advice that I can give you is to keep track of your progress. Make an excel sheet and feel it with the following information (and any other data that you find relevant):- How many friend requests have you done each day
- How many of them have confirmed you
- How many people have you exposed to your opportunity
- How many sales did you get

Hi Hezi, never really done much Facebook Advertising/Marketing. Seems a little ridiculous… but I do use other methods with success.

Hi Jayne. If you have something that is working for you, continue with it. Even though it may look ridiculous for you, the technique that I show here produce results if done correctly. At the end of the day, no matter what you market online, your customers are people, and you can connect to them directly using Facebook. The drawback of this technique is that it is a little time consuming, but it is a great strategy fro newbies that are willing to invest their time but not their money.

I need to get onboard with Facebook Marketing. It makes perfect sense and I don’t know why I haven’t done so before now. It’s a simple strategy that I am sure is very effective. As you pointed out, there are over 845 million users on Facebook. That’s a huge market that I need to tap into.

You’re right, it’s about relationships. I see that alot of people are obssessed with having many friends but really it’s not about the friends you have,it’s about the relationship you have with them.
Interestingly, I never knew that kind of software existed. Glad it’s no longer useful :)

Marketing is a numbers game, but it is also a quality game. In order to find quality, you sometimes needs to go over a lot of quantity.
Building relationships in Facebook also takes some practice. But people that do it it correctly in our industry can produce great results.
“pending friends requests” was a app that helped those who use to actively build their Facebook friends list. If you hear someone that is doing it, let him know about how he can avoid his account being closed.
Your tips are very helpful. I am sure many people will thank you for them. I’m saying this because there are many people who do not know to handle this tool. Like you said, people have a lot of friends on Facebook (adding a person as a friend isn’t that hard), but they do not know how to approach them. So, your advices could teach them how to make this step.

I’ve recently attended some amazing facebook marketing trainings and I need to implement what I’ve learned as far as networking. I’ve been implementing other things but I rarely add 2-3 new friends a week.

I used to be one of those people who avoided using FB until I learned about the fan page. That is one of my next frontiers. Marketing is about broadcasting to the quantity in hopes to sift out the quality…Diligence, patience, and persistence are created, developed and fostered in this process.

FB fan page is also a good strategy to put your message across. The bottom line is that Facebook is a great source of costumers and sales for anyone who is marketing online. You just need to learn a way that works for you to tap into it.

No just Facebook; any popular social community can help; even YouTube – all you have to do is make friends and comment videos. I think any website that allows you to make friends and talk to them is helpful. However, Facebook marketing is a must indeed.
Yes, you are absolutely right. Still, most people when they start usually have one active social network account which is Facebook, so it is easier to start with something that you know.

Yes, Facebook is a powerful tool to use and place to develop relationships if done right. You listed some key points with creating lists, more targeted, as the old adage says, “You market to everyone you sell to no one.” SO, the marketing has to be niche oriented we must know our market. There is plenty of market on FB!
I have used FB PPC as well and does generate leads as long as you understand the CPC and all.

Hi Joe. I have been doing some PPC lately, and it is a great way to build a list fast and relatively cheap. When doing PPC you always have to check your return on investment. Thanks for your comment

You say in your post: “1) Open a new account only for business” and I want to clarify this so that people don’t make a serious mistake. Facebook only allows you ONE account and it has to be in your real name. You can use that one account for personal OR for business reasons, but you only get one. If you open more than one and the great FB catches on, you could lose both of them without any recourse as it is a breach of their terms of use.
Instead, if you want to completely separate your business and personal profiles, open a business PAGE for your business and use your profile/account for personal use. This is the correct way to maintain multiple accounts on FB.
Hi Lesa, thanks for the comment. Of course that you are right. What I wanted to convey with my point is that sometimes people need to be creative in their business, because there usually a solution (even if sometimes it is out of the box).
